Judge James Worton oversees the Bartholomew County Veterans Court, an 18- to 24-month intensive second-chance program designed to help vets address the root causes that lead to crimes. Those can include post-traumatic stress syndrome, brain trauma, anxiety, depression, chemical dependency, unemployment, or homelessness.
Worton is a career lawman turned lawyer turned judge who now presides as Bartholomew County Superior Court 1 Judge.
He received his undergraduate degree from IU and in 2008 earned his law degree from the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
