Return to home

Economic impact

Indiana University plays a key role in Indiana’s economic growth. In addition to purchasing a considerable amount of goods and services from local businesses across the state, the university employs residents in almost every county, each of whom go on to have a positive impact on local tax bases.

Education impact

With seven IU campuses to choose from, Indiana residents have multiple access points to pursue their education. While research shows that a well-educated workforce corresponds with improved health, lower rates of mortality, and lower rates of crime, an education from Indiana University also gives citizens the opportunity to increase their earning potential and achieve upward social mobility.
